TGN

Another part of the answer (to making tech work better in AEC) is the development of attention-focusing rigs addressing THIS problem:

the requirement in all modeled environments for a standardizable FORM of ENGAGEMENT with models that builds more thorough understanding faster, that draws focused attention to things that need to be understood, and provides both CLARITY and CONTROL over communication about very complex situations in very complex models.

I propose these rigs (TGN) as an open standard available to all software developers, for use in all apps and platforms, open source and commercial.

Attention-focusing rigs — AFRs generally, or “TGN” which is proposed as AFRs’ standard, shared, open, core features — will address this need, improving interpretive focus, clarity, understanding, and therefore increasing model utility and uptake in nearly all workflows, for project teams of many types, including: those that want to model MORE, and those that want to model LESS.

The thing is, 100 years ago a few people invented the fusion of recorded sound/voice into silent film. That invention made a giant impact on media, expression, communication, work. 12 years ago came the automated fusion of technical drawings in-situ within models. I invented that. So, I know something about this:

That has been important, as the concept has been developed by at least 8 software companies so far and made an important impact on users.

In my opinion, due to who made best use of the development (Revizto), the biggest impact has been in construction.

Doing the work myself for years building models, and construction drawings driven from the models, gave me the insight that this fusion is essential; it’s happening anyway in your mind even if software doesn’t assist you with it.

Since 2016 I’ve spent a lot of effort imagining how this evolves next and I believe I’m right again, like I was the first time with “hypermodel”. But “right again” does nothing unless a software company gives my ideas a chance again, like last time. This time, the fusion is designed to be MORE effective, MORE communicative, more expressive, more engaging, more interactive, more compelling (likely addictive) and easier to use for users, and far more useful, a much stronger assist to thought and understanding of very complex situations in very complex models.

The other improvement this time around, in Fusion Version 2 (TGN) is that this time the industry can avoid relegating interpretive focus technique to siloes within single apps. The rigs can be developed to be portable, shareable across platform boundaries..

TGN portability, openness, standardization, and beyond-standard deployment

Here’s a peek at the future form of visual engagement with digital models of all kinds, the future of attentive focus, and the future of technical drawing. A new TGN demo. Note the controlled visual interplay, the introspection at multiple levels (side to side, and between model and overlay). After the demo stops you can … Continue reading TGN portability, openness, standardization, and beyond-standard deployment

The Form of Engagement – TANGERINE FOCUS

The Form of Engagement

TGN will make digital worlds more effective, useful, and engaging for architects, engineers, builders, and facility occupants and operators.

At a minimum, TGN is aimed at making (all) models more engaging, more intelligible, more clarifying, and therefore easier to use, and more useful to use, less tedious to use, more fun to use. More interesting AND more practical. More informative. Let’s put it this way: more a place where thinking happens and understanding grows. This will attract more people, to do more things, with more models.

And guess what?

That’s gonna make models better.

Hey software companies, why not give me a shot to assist you with the design of TGN implementation in YOUR apps and platforms?

What do you possibly have to lose?

Let’s go! 💪🤠
